Kings Of Leon's Caleb Followill and wife Lily Aldridge expecting their first child
Kings Of Leon frontman Caleb Followill has announced that he and wife Lily Aldridge are expecting their first child.
The 'Only By The Night' singer married the 26-year old model in May of this year at the luxurious San Ysidor Ranch in California, after a three-year romance and the couple have now announced that they are expecting their first baby.
The couple issued a statement about the pregnancy, in which they said: "We are thrilled to announce that we are expecting our first child together. We can't wait to meet the new addition to our family."
According to E! Online News, Aldridge is three months pregnant, meaning she is likely to give birth sometime in June next summer.
Kings Of Leon are currently taking time off after completing their lengthy world tour in support of their fifth album 'Come Around Sundown', which they released in October 2010.
You can watch an exclusive clip from Talihina Sky, a documentary about Kings Of Leon which was released earlier this year by checking out the vid below:
When Van Halen signed with Interscope last month, suspicions arose that a tour would be in the works, especially since the band has brought David Lee Roth back into the fold in a formal recording capacity. Now, thanks to a ridiculous tour teaser — Roth softshoes, twirls a baton, hams it up a storm — it looks like a tour is a reality.
Motley Crue frontman Vince Neil has hinted that he could quit the band next year.
The hair metal act are set to play a dozen shows as part of a residency at the Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas in February 2012, but according to Neil, the gigs could serve as his final farewell to his bandmates.
This is all about me thinking about the second half of my life, thinking about my future, and that future might not include Motley Crue after Vegas. There are so many opportunities that are in front of me that I'm really excited about. I just don't want to look back later in life and regret I didn't pursue them.
Neil recently claimed that the band's residency at the Hard Rock Hotel would see them indulge in "over the top craziness" and said the gigs were an opportunity for Motley Crue to do things they'd "only really dreamed about".
Jon Bon Jovi quashed internet rumours of his death, by posting a picture of him in front of a Christmas tree and holding a piece of paper emblazoned with yesterday's date (December 19).
The Bon Jovi rocker was the subject of an internet death hoax, but the star took to his band's Facebook page to prove he was still alive and kicking.
In the photo posted, a smiling Bon Jovi holds up a piece of paper which says:
Heaven looks a lot like New Jersey
The posting came after Dailynewbloginternational put a story online saying that the frontman had died from a cardiac arrest at the age of 49. Billboard reports that the story was copied from the Los Angeles Times' coverage of the 2009 death of Michael Jackson.
In October, Jon Bon Jovi opened a new 'pay what you want' restaurant in New Jersey. The restaurant, which is named The Jon Bon Jovi Soul Kitchen, was formally opened on October 20 in Sayreville, the frontman's hometown.
The eatery only serves organic food and operates a policy where diners pay either a suggested donation or pay for their food by putting in volunteers hours in the restaurant. Jon Bon Jovi has said that the eatery is attempting to rid the world of its traditional view of a soup kitchen for homeless people

Smashing Pumpkins' Billy Corgan: ''Oceania' is our best album for 16 years'
Photo: PA
Smashing Pumpkins singer Billy Corgan has declared that the band's new album 'Oceania' is their best effort for over 15 years.
In an interview with Stereogum, the frontman claimed that the LP – which is expected to be released in early 2012 – was the band's strongest record since their 1995 classic 'Mellon Collie & The Infinite Sadness'.
Talking about the positive reaction from people who have heard the album, he said: "I mean, it's been a long time since I made a record where you play it for 50 people and 50 people say, 'This is a great record'. I haven't had that since 'Mellon Collie' where 50 people go, 'OK, that's a great record.'"
He went on to add:
That's a long time. That's 15, 16 years between that feeling of 'OK, now you've got one here.'
Corgan also compared it to the band's other material since their 2007 reunion LP 'Zeitgeist', insisting: "It is the first time where you actually hear me escape the old band. I'm not reacting against it or for it or in the shadow of it."
In September of this year, Corgan said that the release of 'Oceania' would be a make or break moment for the Smashing Pumpkins. He claimed that the band would "have to step back and really evaluate where we're going" if the LP wasn't a success.
Radiohead's Ed O'Brien has revealed that the band are rehearsing "four or five new songs" to play at their live shows next year.
With the band set to embark on a world tour in 2012 including 10 dates in North America and five shows across Europe, the guitarist told XFM that they had been working on new material that they could showcase on the road.
He said:
We're trying to keep it creative. We've got new songs, we've been rehearsing about four or five new songs this week so we're going to try and take those on the road. It feels really good.
O'Brien also confirmed that the band planned to tour the UK next year, after reports circulated earlier this week that Radiohead were eager to play a series of indoor gigs next summer to showcase material from their latest album 'The King Of Limbs'.
"We are definitely playing the UK next year," he said. "It' s just a matter of staggering how they sell the tickets, it's nonsense really. It will be the autumn of next year."
Lady Gaga has been named as the highest-earning female artist of 2011.
The 'Born This Way' star claimed the top spot in the Top-Earning Women In Music list compiled by Forbes, who revealed that the singer made $90 million (£58 million) this year.
She raked in double the income of the second place artist, Taylor Swift, whose earnings for 2011 stand at $45 million (£29 million). Katy Perry came in third with an income of $44 million (£28 million) for the year, while Beyonce and Rihanna rounded out the top five with figures of $35 million (£22.6 million) and $29 million (£18.7 million) respectively.
Adele, meanwhile, was the only British star to feature on the list, as the success of her record-breaking album '21' helped her net $18 million (£11.6 million).
The 10 top-earning female artists in 2011 were as follows:
1. Lady Gaga 2. Taylor Swift 3. Katy Perry 4. Beyonce Knowles 5. Rihanna 6. Pink 7. Carrie Underwood 8. Celine Dion 9. Adele 10. = Alicia Keys 10. = Britney Spears
The singer has also said she has chosen a name for a new album and has already started working on the LP, despite only releasing her last album 'Born This Way' in May this year.

Foo Fighters confirm plans to write new album in 2012
Photo: Dean Chalkley/NME
Foo Fighters have confirmed they are planning to head into the studio to record a new album in 2012.
The band only released their latest studio effort 'Wasting Light' in April of this year and frontman Dave Grohl has revealed on the band's official blog he has already started compiling ideas for new songs.
He wrote:
We're not finished yet. There are still more shows to play, more songs to write, more albums to record, for years to come. I mean if you would have told me 17 years ago that in 2012 I would be writing songs for our eighth studio album well.
Grohl added: "The fact that a rock and roll record, made in a garage, completely analogue to tape with no help from computers, could be a Number One album around the world, and get a Grammy nomination for Album of the Year... well... these days that's no small feat.
"It's truly inspiring, and it makes us feel like the luckiest band in the world. So thanks. It means everything to us."
Radiohead to release new material on December 19 - 2011

Radiohead will release two new tracks called 'The Daily Mail' and 'Staircase' on December 19.
According to At Ease, the songs, which were recorded during studio sessions for the band's latest album 'The King Of Limbs', will be available on the music streaming service Deezer from next Monday, and will also be available from Amazon.co.uk on the same day.
Radiohead previously played both of the unreleased songs on their 'From The Basement' live session with long-term producer and collaborator Nigel Godrich. The performance, which saw them play 'The King Of Limbs' in its entirety, is also set to be released on DVD and Blu-Ray on December 19.
Last month, two previously unreleased Radiohead demos were posted online. The songs, which were titled 'Everybody Knows' and 'Girl (In The Purple Dress)', were recorded when the band were still known as On A Friday and before guitarist Jonny Greenwood joined the band.
Earlier this year, Radiohead singer Thom Yorke revealed that the band were set to head to their Oxford studio this month and in January 2012 in order to to work on new material.

Adele: 'Don't expect to see my third album any time soon'
Adele has warned her fans not to expect the follow up to her chart topping album '21' in the near future.
The singer said she is definitely taking a break before she pens songs for her next record and it is unlikely to see the light for at least two or three years.
I imagine I'll be 25 or 26 by the time my next record comes out, as I haven't even thought about my third record yet.
Adele added: "I'm just gonna lay some concrete, set up home and just be for a bit. I'll disappear and come back with a record when it's good enough. There will be no new music until it's good enough and until I'm ready."
The singer recently scored the biggest selling two albums of 2011 with combined sales of 4.5 million. Her most recent LP sold a whopping 3.4 million copies and is now the biggest selling album in the UK of the 21st century.
She also revealed that her care free approach to music and her image was inspired by Amy Winehouse. Adele added: "I see no appeal in having a very specific plan as an artist. Who fucking cares if people don't get it or don't like it?
"I'd rather trust myself, to like what I've done and stick to my guns than make music I don't like, wear clothes that don't suit me and flutter between genres because I'm scared I won't be relevant if I pass my 'sell by' date.
"Amy tattooed that in me. She made music because she was good at it and wanted to. And she was a huge artist who was always a bigger fan. That's why I gravitated towards her and listened when she sang and spoke or snarled."
Smashing Pumpkins' Billy Corgan: 'We refuse to be a nostalgia act'
Photo: Danny North
Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan has said that his band will never bow to external pressure and become "a nostalgia act".
The band are currently gearing up for the release of their new studio album 'Oceania', which is due out next year, and Corgan has said that his band will never give in to pressure from industry folk or fans and do a tour which is simply based around their classic material.
He told Kerrang!: "The Pumpkins won't be a nostalgia act, we refuse to be. That would be the true death of the Smashing Pumpkins. I've said to people in the business – we won't go out and make money by playing 'Siamese Dream' in full. We're not operating with that safety net. That isn't an option. That's off the table".
Corgan also spoke about the original demise of the Smashing Pumpkins and said that he never wanted to abandon the band, just some of their old line-up.
He added: "I never wanted to leave the Smashing Pumpkins in the first place. I wanted to leave some of the people, but not the band. I tried a bunch of different projects and they were interesting, but they weren't satisfying. The Pumpkins is only thing I've ever found in music that gives me the passion I need. When I wasn't doing it, I didn't really know what I was doing".
The bands were chosen ahead of Joan Jett And The Blackhearts, The Spinners, Donovan and The Cure to be added to the roll of honour. They will be officially inducted at a ceremony in Cleveland, Ohio, on April 14, 2012.
The decision to induct Guns N' Roses will raise questions about whether the band's original line-up will reunite to perform at the ceremony. Both Axl Rose and Slash have both separately said that they would not rule out some kind of reunion for the ceremony, but neither has offered any kind of confirmation either.
The Faces are almost certain to be joined by former singer Rod Stewart for their performance at the ceremony, while the Red Hot Chili Peppers may be joined by former guitarist John Frusciante for their performance.
Paramore have unveiled their new single 'In The Mourning', scroll down to the bottom of the page and click to listen to the track.
The track is the third and final installment of the band's 'Singles Club', which has offered fans the chance to buy one new track per month for three months.
'In The Mourning' follows October's release of 'Renegade', the first single of the three and 'Hello Cold World', which came out last month.
The band said at the outset of 'Singles Club' that they wanted to celebrate all they had achieved in 2011 with the new tracks and would shortly be starting work on their fourth studio album.
They wrote: "We really wanted to do something special for all of you around the holidays to thank you for making 2011 so amazing and sticking with us as we go into 2012 and start working on the new album."
The She & Him network TV circuit continues with a performance of “Rockin’ Around The Christmas Tree” on Ellen. Thought it’s a totally tepid rendition that’s almost impossible to comment on because it’s so neutral, I appreciate how devoid of subliminal messaging it is (This morning, I woke up in my bed after a long blackout surrounded by boxes of Nintendo DSs). Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds announce new single release
Photo: Dean Chalkley
Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds are set to release the brand new single 'If I Had A Gun…' on December 26.
The third track to be taken from Gallagher’s debut album, it will be released on seven-inch vinyl, CD and download and will be available as a digital bundle, which also includes the video. The B-side 'I’d Pick You Every Time' will only be available on the single release.
Yesterday Noel Gallagher hit out at brother Liam of Beady Eye, blaming him for Oasis' failure to truly break North America. He revealed that his brother bailed on the opening night of the band's US tour in 1996 after his then wife Patsy Kensit called and said that they needed to buy a house.
Noel went on to say that his brother's behaviour "killed us stone dead in America" and that he blamed him "for Oasis never becoming as big in America as we were in England".
Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds tour the UK next year, with arena dates booked in February and September.
Coldplay's Chris Martin: 'I'd be terrible if I went solo'
Coldplay's Chris Martin has said he will never go solo as he'd "be terrible" without his bandmates.
The singer, whose band released their fifth studio album 'Mylo Xyloto' on October 24, said that he didn't believe he "could even get a gig in Butlins" without his bandmates.
Asked about the chances of him going solo, Martin told Q: "I'd just be terrible. I don't think I could even get a gig in Butlins — and I've been to Butlins. I think me and my keyboard would be outside Woolworths most days, getting shouted at."
Martin also spoke about how much he depended on his bandmates, adding that he "couldn't do it on his own" and that he was grateful they dealt with the increased media attention that surrounded him.
He added: "They're very good friends to me because they know that, as the singer, and especially because I'm married to Gwyneth Paltrow, I get eight times as much media as them. They know how much I need them, I just couldn't do it on my own."

Slipknot's Corey Taylor: 'Rick Rubin is overrated and overpaid'
Photo: Danny North
Slipknot's Corey Taylor has made a public attack on producer Rick Rubin, saying that he considers him to be "overrated" and "overpaid".
The frontman, who worked with Rubin on Slipknot's 2004 album 'Vol 3: (The Subliminal Verses)', told an audience at a Q & A session in Texas last Friday (November 18) that the producer was a "thin shadow" of his former self.
"There are some people who would love for me to toe the party line, which is basically, 'Working with Rick Rubin was a very enriching experience,'" he said. "Let me give you the fucking truth of it: Rick Rubin showed up for 45 minutes a week. Rick Rubin would then, during that 45 minutes, lay on a couch and have a mic brought in next to [his] face so he wouldn't have to move."
Taylor went on to add:
The Rick Rubin of today is a thin, thin, thin shadow of the Rick Rubin that he was. He is overrated, he is overpaid, and I will never work with him again as long as I fucking live.
Taylor isn't the only musician to have made a dig at Rubin in public. In 2010, Muse frontman Matt Bellamy jokingly thanked Rubin for "teaching us how not to produce" at the Music Producers Guild Awards.
The band also re-released the 10th anniversary edition of their 2001 album 'Iowa'. The band's DJ, Sid Wilson, described recording sessions on the LP as "brutal" and "really dark".
Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds soared into Los Angeles for two sold out nights at UCLA’s Royce Hall in support of his excellent solo album. Pet Shop Boys are set to release a brand new B-sides collection next year.
'Format', out on February 6, is a double album made up of 38 tracks which have previously featured on the duo’s single releases from 1996 to 2009. The tracks have been remastered and the album will be accompanied by an CD booklet interview with both Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe – pictured above with Lady Gaga – by Jon Savage.
'Format' follows the duo's last B-sides release, 'Alternative', which came out in 1995 and featured B-sides from 1985 to 1994.
Pet Shop Boys are set to release their 11th studio album in autumn 2012.
Dr. Dre has revealed that he is planning on "taking a little bit of a break from music".
The rap mogul is still to release his long-awaited album 'Detox', despite him first mooting the idea of the LP back in 2002 and delaying its release several times since, but he is now insisting he will go on hiatus once he has completed his current production duties for other artists.
In an interview with World Entertainment News Network, Dre revealed he had no plans to return to the studio once had had finished working on albums with hip hop artists Slim Da Mobster and Kendrick Lamar.
"I think that's when I'm gonna just wrap it up for a minute because I've been working on music for 27 years now," he said, in reference to completing his current projects and his future plans. "The longest I've ever been out of the studio in 27 years is two weeks."
So, yeah, I feel like I'm gonna take a little bit of a break. I'm never gonna stop music, it's like air to me. [But] I'm [going to] take a little bit of a break. Enjoy some time with the family 'til I get that itch to get back in.
'Detox' will be Dr Dre's first album since his 1999 LP '2001' and the rapper has previously indicated it will be his last full studio record.
Two singles have been released so far: 'Kush' in November last year and 'I Need A Doctor', which featured Eminem and Skylar Grey, in February of this year. There is no confirmed tracklisting or release date as yet.
Check out the vid (although kinda grainy) of "Still Dre"
Van Halen are to record their first album with original frontman David Lee Roth since 1984’s ‘1984’.
The band have signed to Interscope Records for a deal which includes recording, touring, marketing and merchandising, reports Rolling Stone.
Sammy Hagar replaced David Lee Roth in 1985 and the rock band last released an album in 1998, ‘Van Halen III’. Their 11th record, it featured Gary Cherone of Extreme on vocals.
Van Halen toured in 2007 and 2008 with David Lee Roth back on vocals. A source has said to the Hollywood Reporter that Interscope chairman Jimmy Iovine was personally involved with signing Van Halen to his label.
The source is quoted as saying: "He heard the band was available and wanted to work with them. It was decided at the eleventh hour." It was previously rumoured that the band would be signing with Columbia, but David Lee Roth had reservations about signing with a record label based on the East Coast of the United States.
It was also previously rumoured that Van Halen would be performing at the Grammy Foundation’s nomination event on November 30. However, a source has told Rolling Stone that they will not be appearing.
Ah the classic video for "Panama" below...will the new stuff sound like this????
Kiss's Gene Simmons: 'A good beating would have helped Axl Rose'
Photo: PA Photos
Kiss's Gene Simmons has hit out at Guns N' Roses frontman Axl Rose by claiming that he should be given "a good beating" – scroll down to the bottom of the page and click to watch.
In an interview with Music-news.com, the bassist said that the singer's use of drugs and alcohol had prevented his group from being "the best band in the world".
After being asked what advice he would give Guns N' Roses about staying at the top of their game, he replied: "You get to sleep in the bed you make.
"Guns N' Roses could have been the best band in the world and the reason they're not is because of Axl Rose. Drugs, heroin, alcohol and all that but ultimately it falls on Axl Rose's shoulders."
When asked what could have been done to help the singer change his ways, he added:
A good beating would have helped. When you misbehaved as a little kid there's someone there to give you what for. Then, when you become a grown-up, who's there to set you straight?
Red Hot Chili Peppers: 'Audiences have accepted us for who we are'
Photo Gallery: Red Hot Chili Peppers Photo: PA
Red Hot Chili Peppers have denied that they have adapted their sound to suit mainstream audiences and have insisted that audiences have instead become open to their music.
The band released their 10th studio album 'I'm With You' earlier this year, their first with new guitarist Josh Klinghoffer and are currently in the middle of a UK arena tour.
Speaking to the Daily Record, singer Anthony Kiedis said that despite his band's career sales numbering over 70 million, he did not believe that his band had ever adapted their sound to court mainstream success.
He said: "I think the audience became suitable to us over the years. We never made a decision to become more suitable, the audience slowly accepted us for who we are. At the start, we were crass and brash and unpalatable for the masses."
Kiedis also said that he believed the secret to the band's longevity was the fact that they treated every last show like it was their last one. He said of playing live: "It's still one night – that's what it feels like. We never thought about being a rock n'roll band. We only wanted to play one night and that's how we keep it alive. We all have a different type of intelligence and we want to honour the things that put us where we are and that keep us there."
Red Hot Chili Peppers will return to the UK and Ireland next summer to play three huge outdoor shows. The band will play Knebworth Park near Stevenage on June 23, Sunderland's Stadium Of Light on June 24 and Dublin's Croke Park on June 26.

Liam Gallagher: 'Noel is desperate for Oasis reunion'
Photo Gallery: Oasis Photo: Andrew Whitton/NME
Liam Gallagher has claimed that his brother Noel Gallagher is "desperate" for Oasis to reform.
The Beady Eye singer had previously claimed he would like the band to reunite in 2015 to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their 1995 LP '(What's The Story) Morning Glory?', although his older sibling rejected his offer by insisting that he left the Manchester group "for a reason and that reason still stands".
Speaking to NME, however, Liam claimed that Noel was eager to reunite at some point and said that he and his brother could put their previous differences aside.
He said:
I know our kid's desperate to [get Oasis back together]. And with this thing in 2015 I think me and him can put our issues aside and do it without a doubt. But I still think there's room for Beady Eye and the High Flying Birds, whatever they're called. Without a doubt…
Gallagher recently said that he would like to make an Oasis film. The singer is apparently keen to shoot a warts and all biopic starting with the band's famous bust up in Paris which led to Noel walking out on the band.
