tracks from new Strokes album...!

The Strokes have revealed the tracklisting for their fourth album 'Angles'.

The album is set to be released on March 21 in the UK and March 22 in the US, with the first single, which does not have a release date yet, set to be 'Under Cover Of Darkness'.

'Life Is Simple' is the only song on 'Angles' that survived from sessions the band recorded with producer Joe Chiccarelli early last year. They then decided to record in guitarist Albert Hammond, Jr.'s own studio, taking on production duties themselves.

The album will be the New York band's first since 2006's 'First Impressions Of Earth'.

The tracklisting of 'Angles' is:
'Machu Picchu'
'Under Cover of Darkness'
'Two Kinds of Happiness'
'You’re So Right'
'Taken For A Fool'
'Games'
'Call Me Back'
'Gratisfaction'
'Metabolism'

Van Halen in the studio with Bon Jovi and Take That producer

Band making first record with David Lee Roth in 26 years

Van Halen have started work ontheir first album with original frontman David Lee Roth in 26 years.

News that the band were set to work with producer John Shanks, who has most recently worked with Bon Jovi and Take That, broke last year, and Shanks has suggested that he's now gone into the studio with the metallers.

Shanks tweeted from his Twitter page, Twitter.com/johnshanks1: "Here we go kids… VH". He also posted a picture of Eddie Van Halen's guitar amp.

Last year the band confirmed that they would work on a new album, which would be their first with original frontman David Lee Roth since their '1984' album was released in the same year as the title. Roth left in 1985 to be replaced by Sammy Hagar, but rejoined the band in 2006.

There is no word from the band on a scheduled release plan yet.

whoa...can't wait to hear this!!!!!! Foo Fighters News!

from the pages of Spin.Com...

"There's 11 songs and front to back, there's not one sleepy ballad," Foo Fighters leader Dave Grohl recently said of the group's upcoming disc. He wasn't kidding: The band posted a teaser of a raging new track from the record (due out this Spring) on their website, which you can hear here.
The untitled song kicks off with chunky, fuzzed-out guitars and a hardcore drum beat before cutting out briefly to let Grohl howl at the top of his lungs, "These are my famous last words!" The track has the same anthemic vibe of another new tune "White Limo," which the group previewed a few weeks ago.
As SPIN previously reported, Grohl is going back to his Nirvana roots on the new album. He's roped in Nevermind producer Butch Vig to produce the set, and Nirvana bassist Krist Novoselic will be making a guest appearance on bass.
The Foo Fighters are rehearsing for an upcoming tour — they posted a picture yesterday of themselves preparing — but they haven't announced a full itinerary yet. They'll play their first show February 25 at Wembley Arena in London; their first announced U.S. date is a headlining slot at Sasquatch! Festival in Washington on May 27.

First Entry

Hello folks...upon urging from one of my best friends...I'm starting this blog for 2011.

Initially I hope to share my thoughts on all things related to music. I try to attend shows throughout the year and even fly out of state to see some of my favorite artists. Right now the initial set of shows in Florida for 2011 is pretty sparse (right now I have tickets to Lady Gaga..and then 2 days later IRON MAIDEN!) But I said that about 2010 and I attended about 10 shows last year!!

Right now I'll probably talk about the shows I attended last year to get me started with this blog. And of course as I attend shows this year and on..I will report and even hope to provide vids from all these shows!

wish me luck yo...
