Word spread Monday that Depeche Mode‘s first single titled “Heaven” from the forthcoming album Delta Machine would make its radio debut this Thursday. In a surprise move, the song was world premiered this morning by KROQ Los Angeles morning show hosts Kevin & Bean.
Buzz on the new material has been strong with chief songwriter Martin Gore stating that the new album looks back to the band’s glory days. “It’s got a bit of a feel of Violator on some of the songs and a feel of Songs of Faith and Devotion on other songs,” said Gore. “It’s a bit of a hybrid of those two for me.”

Hailed for releasing multiple singles with B-sides for every album, the band is holding to their plan with “Heaven” which will ship with an additional track titled “All That’s Mine.” The B-side is minimalist track boasts a decidedly fat yet sparse bass line, harking back to 1984′s Some Great Reward.
Delta Machine, their long-awaited 13th studio full-length, on March 26. The album was recorded over the past year in Santa Barbara, CA (home to the band’s main songwriter, Martin Gore) and New York City, produced by Ben Hillier and mixed by long-time DM associate Flood.
“Writing this album was incredibly daunting as I wanted the sound of this collection to be very modern,” Gore said in an announcement. “I want people to feel good about listening to this record, to get some kind of peace. It’s just got something magical about it.”
“With this release we’ve completely shifted our idea of how to create an album. When we hit a wall where we realize the album is beginning to sound too normal, we’ll mess it up and really give it that organic Depeche Mode sound,” offered Depeche Mode frontman Dave Gahan. “Delta Machine is no different, and I can’t wait for all of our fans to hear it.”

The Strokes are to release a new album in 2013.

The band's fifth studio album will be released later this year and will likely be preceded by the single 'All The Time', according to Billboard.

News of a new LP comes just hours after a US radio station claimed it had been sent a brand new Strokes track titled 'All The Time'. According to Seattle's 107.7, the station was sent the track by RCA records. "We'll have to 'leak' this soon. You won't be disappointed..." a post on its Facebook page read.

Last summer, NME confirmed that The Strokes were working on the follow-up to 2011's 'Angles'. Reports that the band had been working on new material at the famous Electric Lady Studios in their home city of New York were quickly denied by their management and record label.

However, guitarist Albert Hammond Jr's father revealed that the reports were true and the band were in the process of finishing up their fifth studio album.

Asked if the band were recording, Hammond Sr said: "Albert says that the stuff they're doing is incredible. They're doing it themselves with their friend, engineer and producer. He just says, 'Dad, it's incredible'."

When asked if he thought it would sound different from 'Angles', he said: "I don't think they'll go in a wildly different direction. Obviously the songs will be different, but I think The Strokes are The Strokes; they always will be The Strokes."

New Depeche Album Details!

Depeche Mode - Delta Machine
Depeche Mode, the synthpop originators who became dark-pop elder statesman, have just announced plans for a new studio album, the follow-up to 2009′s Sounds Of The Universe. The new one is called Delta Machine, and hopefully that title does not imply that they’re trying to make electronic blues now. Ben Hillier produced the album, and longtime collaborator Flood mixed it. A deluxe edition will include a 28-page book full of Anton Corbijn photos, and first single “Heaven” will also come with remixes from people like Matthew Dear and Blawan.
The best part of this news? A looming Depeche Mode arena tour. They’ve only announced European dates thus far, but American ones will surely follow. I saw them headline Lollapalooza on the Sounds Of The Universe tour, and I can say in full confidence that you should go see them if you get a chance. Check the album’s tracklist below.
