Twitter officially launched a new music service today (4/18), simply called 'Twitter #music', which is available via the web along with iOS devices (Android is coming soon). Twitter explained the app in a blog post which you can read about here. The primary aim of the app, which is available as a platform separate from Twitter's stand-alone main page, is to allow users to discover music based on what other users are tweeting about. In other words, Twitter is trying to become another music-recommendation machine. The free app consists of four pages/tabs: "Emerging", for "hidden talent", "Popular", which displays what's trending on Twitter, and two personal tabs focusing on people you follow as well as songs "suggested" based on your tastes.
