Kiss's Gene Simmons: 'A good beating would have helped Axl Rose'
Kiss's Gene Simmons has hit out at Guns N' Roses frontman Axl Rose by claiming that he should be given "a good beating" – scroll down to the bottom of the page and click to watch.
In an interview with Music-news.com, the bassist said that the singer's use of drugs and alcohol had prevented his group from being "the best band in the world".
After being asked what advice he would give Guns N' Roses about staying at the top of their game, he replied: "You get to sleep in the bed you make.
"Guns N' Roses could have been the best band in the world and the reason they're not is because of Axl Rose. Drugs, heroin, alcohol and all that but ultimately it falls on Axl Rose's shoulders."
When asked what could have been done to help the singer change his ways, he added:
A good beating would have helped. When you misbehaved as a little kid there's someone there to give you what for. Then, when you become a grown-up, who's there to set you straight?
Axl Rose recently blamed Guns N' Roses' notorious reputation for turning up late to live shows on former bandmate Slash and his management. The singer was interviewed for VH1's programme The Metal Show last week (November 11).
Meanwhile, Gene Simmon's former Kiss bandmate Ace Frehley recently claimed that the bassist was a sex addict who would "fuck almost anything".
