Adele reveals 'heartbreak' over split with lover who inspired her '21' album

Adele has revealed her heartbreak over her split with the lover who inspired her '21' album - and said she would "do anything" to win him back.

The singer claimed that although she "wouldn't give up this success for anything", the trials and tribulations in her personal life have made her success feel "bittersweet".

The Tottenham soul star, who recently cancelled a number of UK tour dates in order to have vocal chord surgery, told The Sun:

It's hard singing all these songs because it makes me remember how brilliant we were when we were good... and how tragic it was when we were bad.

She also admits she still feels emotional singing her smash song 'Someone Like You' and argued that it was "such an honest thing to write".

Last month, Adele denied rumours she was suffering from throat cancer, insisting that her upcoming operation will instead treat a haemorrhaged vocal chord.
