The album, which is Apple's fourth, has the full title of 'The Idler Wheel Is Wiser Than The Driver Of The Screw, And Whipping Cords Will Serve You More Than Ropes Will Ever Do'. It is the follow-up to her 2005 third album 'Extraordinary Machine'.
It is the second time in Apple's career that she has named her album after a lengthy poem. In 1999 she released her second album, which has the full title of 'When The Pawn Hits The Conflicts He Thinks Like A King. What He Knows Throws The Blows When He Goes To The Fight. And He'll Win The Whole Thing 'Fore He Enters The Ring. There's No Body To Batter When Your Mind Is Your Might. So When You Go Solo, You Hold Your Own Hand. And Remember That Depth Is The Greatest Of Heights. And If You Know Where You Stand, Then You Know Where To Land. And If You Fall It Won't Matter, Cause You'll Know That You're Right'.
The title of Apple's second album is the longest ever, according to the Guinness Book Of World Records, and contains 90 words in total.
Apple will tour the US in June in support of her fourth album, playing eight shows in total. It is her first tour of any kind for five years.
Here is Fiona doing a cover version of one of my favorite songs ever...
