Cameron Crowe has been revealed as the director for upcoming Pearl Jam documentary Pearl Jam Twenty.
The Almost Famous director has finished work on the forthcoming film, which marks the 20th anniversary of Pearl Jam forming and is due out in September.
Speaking to Rolling Stone, Crowe said that the film is made up from "the best souvenirs of the past, some fabled footage you've heard exists but have never seen, and some interviews".
Crowe was simultaneously working on an Elton John film called The Union. "For Elton, the camera is a buddy," he said. "Pearl Jam are not prone to opening the curtain the same way, and that is the challenge and delight of it."
