Men At Work flute player Greg Ham has passed away at the age of 58.

Ham was discovered at his home in Melbourne, Australia today (April 19) by two friends who had not heard from him in over a week, reports the Daily Telegraph.

Ham's cause of death has not been confirmed and local police are currently refusing to comment on the situation. Detective Senior Sergeant Shane O'Connell, who is investigating, said: "At this point in time, because of the early stages of our investigation, we're not prepared to go into the exact details of what has occurred,"

Men At Work achieved international success in the 1980s with their huge hit single 'Down Under', which you can hear by scrolling down to the bottom of the page.

The track, and in particular the song's flute riff, went on to become the subject of a long-running copyright dispute, with Australia's Federal Court in 2010 finding it was lifted from the children's folk tune 'Kookaburra', penned more than 75 years ago.

As a result, Men At Work were forced to hand over five per cent of the song's royalties from 2002 onwards to the owners of 'Kookaburra'. Ham admitted after the ruling that he was devastated, saying at the time: "It will be the way the song is remembered and I hate that. I'm terribly disappointed that that's the way I'm going to be remembered - for copying something."

Ham also worked as an actor and had a long-running part in Australian series While You're Down There.
