Coldplay have announced they are to release a brand new single 'Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall' this Saturday (June 4).

The band revealed the news on their official website

The announcement ends a week in which the band have posted two cryptic updates, which are now revealed to have been lyrics from the new single.

Drummer Will Campion has also posted a message, which reads: "We're about to play a bunch of summer festivals so it's as good a time as any to put out a new song. 'Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall' will be available digitally on Friday 3rd June at 12pm (BST), except in the UK where it'll come out on the stroke of midnight between Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th June. We'll also stream it here on Friday and give it a run out at Rock Im Park."

The
Rock Im Park festival takes place this weekend in Nuremberg, Germany, with Coldplay headlining the Saturday night (June 4).

The band have not said whether
'Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall' will feature on their forthcoming fifth studio album.

Beardyman "Unshaved" @ the Udderbelly

The Rapture - Out of the races and onto the tracks

New York dance-punk kings the Rapture will return with a new album on September 6. In the Grace of Your Love, which will be released by James Murphy's DFA label, was co-produced by Philippe Zdar, who mixed Phoenix's smash Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix. I saw this group open up for The Killers a few years ago. They were very good. I hope the new stuff rocks! Enjoy the old school Rapture vid above!

worthy Guns and Roses news??

Axl Rose has 'three albums worth' of new Guns N' Roses songs

Axl Rose has 'three albums worth' of new Guns N' Roses songs
Guns N' Roses frontman Axl Rose has got over three albums worth of new songs recorded and ready for release, according to the band's guitarist DJ Ashba.

In an interview with
Australian radio station Triple M Ashba said the frontman "has a lot of great songs up his sleeve. He probably has three albums worth of stuff recorded."

He went on to talk about how
Rose doesn't seem too keen to show the world his new songs yet. He said the singer "just sits down at the piano and plays. I'm like, 'This is amazing. People have to hear this song.' And he's like, 'Ah, this is something I'm tinkering on'. He's just a genius when it comes down to music and I just cannot wait to sit down with an acoustic guitar and just write. He's just got this gift that's very, very rare."

Guns N' Roses
' last release was their 'Chinese Democracy' effort in 2008 - the band's first album of the original material since 1991. The line-up now stands as Axl Rose on vocals, guitarists Ashba, Ron Thal and Richard Fortus, bassist Tommy Stinson, drummer Frank Ferrer and keyboard/piano players Dizzy Reed and Chris Pitman.

Guns N' Roses will never be true unless the original members reform....and that probably won't happen. Enjoy classic GNR below!
