Noel Gallagher Reveals Details of Two New Solo Albums

Oasis mastermind Noel Gallagher has announced that he will be self-releasing his first solo album, Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds, through his Sour Mash label on October 17th in Britain and November 8th in the United States. The set, which the songwriter produced with frequent collaborator David Sardy, will include the songs "(I Wanna Live in a Dream in My) Record Machine," "Soldier Boys and Jesus Freaks," "AKA...What a Life!" and "Stop the Clocks," a cut that shares its title with an Oasis hits compilation and dates back to that band's 2001 sessions for Heathen Chemistry.

In a press conference held earlier today, Gallagher said that he has completed two albums since quitting Oasis in 2009. The singer did not mention a timetable for the release of the second album, which he recorded in collaboration with Amorphous Androgynous, the duo otherwise known as the DJ group Future Sound of London.
 
Gallagher plans on taking Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds - which is the name of his new band as well as the new record - on the road this fall just before the album hits stores. Given the singer's well-established Beatles fixation, it's worth noting that the name of his solo project is strikingly similar to Paul McCartney and Wings.
