Depeche Mode Delta Machine Details

Depeche Mode, the synthpop originators who became dark-pop elder statesman, have just announced plans for a new studio album, the follow-up to 2009′s Sounds Of The Universe. The new one is called Delta Machine, and hopefully that title does not imply that they’re trying to make electronic blues now. Ben Hillier produced the album, and longtime collaborator Flood mixed it. A deluxe edition will include a 28-page book full of Anton Corbijn photos, and first single “Heaven” will also come with remixes from people like Matthew Dear and Blawan.
The best part of this news? A looming Depeche Mode arena tour. They’ve only announced European dates thus far, but American ones will surely follow. I saw them headline Lollapalooza on the Sounds Of The Universe tour, and I can say in full confidence that you should go see them if you get a chance. Check the album’s tracklist below.

Noel Gallagher: 'Being a solo artist is harder work than being in Oasis'

Noel Gallagher has spoken about his career as a solo artist and has admitted that he finds it "a lot harder work" than being in Oasis.

Asked how he was finding life as a solo artist and if he missed being in Oasis, Gallagher said: "No, I don't say that in a callous way. I don't think about it too much. If it was great I wouldn't have left, if it was all shits and giggles then I'd wouldn't be doing this. I don't miss it, I enjoy what I do now."

He continued: "This is a lot harder work than Oasis was, this is very hard on the brain, Oasis was hard on the soul. This is hard, you've got to be on it every night. When I was in Oasis, I'd shuffle on hungover, having been up late, by the time we got to my bits in the set I'd be very warmed up, but now I've got to be on it from the start."

Kings Of Leon’s Jared Followill and Mona’s Nick Brown unveil new side project

Kings Of Leon bassist Jared Followill and Mona frontman Nick Brown have unveiled the first results of their new side project Smoke & Jackal.

‘No Tell‘ is the debut single from the pair, and is streaming through Soundcloud below.
A six-track EP entitled ‘EP1‘ will follow on October 15th after being recorded earlier this year. According to the duo, ‘No Tell’ was written on the very first night they recorded together at Brown’s studios in Nashville, with the final EP being finished within a week.
“Coming together just worked,” Jared Followill has remarked. “I think it’s because we took such an easy approach to it, we didn’t bring any egos to it. We just talked about each other’s ideas, neither one of us got our feelings hurt. It just worked.”
“It was all about tone and vibe and what felt right in that moment,” Brown adds. “Not second guessing, just having fun in that moment.”
